Tropical Update: 8-30
Gustav is now a strong Category 3 hurricane and will be making landfall at the western edge of Cuba sometime today. Gustav is looking very organized and has a well defined eye of circulation.
As he makes his way across Cuba, it does not look like he will lose much strength and once he does make it past Cuba he is forecasted to become a Category 4 hurricane.

Factotum by Charles Bukowski
I finished this book a couple days ago and forgot to put it up here. I am enjoying Bukowski’s novels and will probably get another one of his for my next book to read.
I also watched the movie they made based on this novel.

Now that we are entering the heart of Hurricane season, the Atlantic basin is really starting to show some activity. As I explained in a post a while ago, this time of year is when the Atlantic turns on her engines and produces a lot of storms. In the summer you get a lot, I mean a lot of people who just go and buy surfboards and think they know everything when they get into the water. What they don’t know is that there are certan rules to follow when out there. If only people knew and understood these rules before paddling out there would be way less injuries and pissed off people in the water.

If you have the guts/time, it’s worth jailbreaking your iPhone. I didn’t think it was necessary because of the app store, but now I can record video and use Google maps offline.

Weekend Wrap-Up 8/21-8/24
Thursday: Went and saw the CollegeHumor comedy show at the UCB. It was hilarious. Watching Crazy Legs eat Micheal Phelps breakfast was both hilarious and disgusting at the same time. Also the comedians were amazing! Jeff and Streeter did an awsome job, again and watching Dan, Sam, and Amir perform Akward Rap live, was great.

WatchMy girlfriend got me an awsome digital camera for my birthday yesterday. It’s waterproof up to 10 feet, so I figured I’d test it out today at the beach. Not the best video, but it’s pretty cool. I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of this when there are some good waves.
