It’s official. As per the 10pm public advisory from the NOAA, the first hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season is Hurricane Alex. This is also the first Atlantic hurricane in the month of June since 1995. Alex is right on the border of hurricane status, packing winds of 75mph and gusts of 85mph, making him a very weak Category 1.
