Look at what just came in the mail!
This is what happens when RunKeeper tells me the first mile I ran was in 8 minutes and 54 seconds. For the 3 miles after that, I’m running faster to try and pick up the pace because I think I’m way behind. When I got home, I found out that the GPS wasn’t tracking correctly and I actually averaged a 7 minute 7 second mile for almost 4 miles.
Inspired by Wordpress’ seriously clever use of Loren Brichter’s new Tweetie options, we’re launching our own Tweetie and Twitterrific compatible API. This Twitter-like API should make it easy for a lot of existing Twitter clients to start supporting Tumblr.
The really cool thing - because our following models follow a lot of the same principles, we’ve been able to take advantage of a ton of native features:
- Retweeting = Reblogging
- Replying = Reblogging w/ commentary
- Favoriting = Liking
- “@david” = ”http://david.tumblr.com/”
- Conversations = Reblogs
To try out Tumblr in Tweetie 2, tap “Accounts” → “+” → enter your username and password → tap the gear icon → enter “http://tumblr.com/” in both fields.
For Twitterrific, tap ”Sources” → “Edit” → “Add a New Account” → enter your username and password → tap ”Advanced” → set “Base URL” to “http://tumblr.com/” and disable “SSL”.
This is really awesome!

Anyone else notice that Google just rebranded Microsoft Exchange as their own product? Today they took the technical leap of supporting Microsoft Exchange on Windows Mobile. Marketing mastery.
I’ve been using Sync for my contacts and calendar on the iPhone and it has been great. Today Google added the ability to enable mail in the sync process, which means mail gets pushed to your device as it is received.
Enable MMS on your iPhone
If you have iTunes 9 and you’re on a Mac, you can get this working today.
