Witch’s Rock, Costa Rica

The day after I graduated high school, my Step Dad and I spent a few days in Costa Rica. After a 45 minute boat ride with dolphins swimming along with the boat, we arrived at Witches Rock. The waves resembled pretty much what you see here in this picture: a few feet overhead, offshore winds and reeling rights. To this day, I still say that that morning at Witch’s Rock were the best waves I’ve ever surfed.

I recently interviewed Hawaiian artist and surfer Heather Brown for SURFBANG. If you haven’t ever seen her work, she does some of the coolest ocean and surfing inspired paintings around. She is a really cool person and does some amazing work. Click through for the full interview and more pictures of the paintings she’s done.

Teahupo’o is one of the most insane waves in the world. It is sooo freaking heavy and massive and intense. The guys who surf it when it gets this big are out of their minds. This video is from a few days ago so expect to see more video of this place going off.

SURFBANG.com is something I’ve been working on in my free time for almost six months and today I am officially launching it to the world. It is mainly targeted to the surf community but there is some cool content on the site along with a lot of surf videos. For todays launch, we have an interview with pro surfer CJ Hobgood and a contest to win 2 new Freestyle watches.
