Personal

Since I was young, I’ve always been interested in how things work. I enjoy the learning process and the excitement of starting something new and experiencing the journey to completion.

I’m in my early 40s and have been married to my high school sweetheart for some time. We have two kids: one who’s about to turn nine and shares my love for understanding how things work, and a two-and-a-half-year-old who is a real life monster.

I grew up on the ocean and have had an affinity for water since a young age. We spend a lot of our time in the summer, and away on vacation in the winter, at beaches. Outside of that, you’ll usually find me tinkering with home automation, 3D printing, DIY projects, or rooting for my favorite sports teams.

Professional

I started as a self-taught front-end developer in 2006 and have worked up and down the stack since then. I’ve been leading teams and managing people since 2014. These days I’m a Senior Engineering Manager at Paperless Post. I genuinely enjoy supporting other engineers in their day-to-day work and long-term career paths.

I don’t write much product code at work anymore, so this site and the side projects I ship are where I still get to build things.
